Life in Oberaudorf

The whole village is your campus.

Oberaudorf is a quiet village of about 4,000 people, frequented in the summer by vacationing Germans who come for its exceptionally clean air and its mountain trails. Teaching, rehearsal and performance venues are scattered throughout the village, and virtually everything is within walking distance, much like a large university campus. Students get to know local folks, often making lasting friendships with German young people.

The village has several wonderful restaurants, bakery cafés and shops, as well as a pharmacy and doctors’ offices. While the area projects a tranquil, rural Alpine atmosphere, this region of southeast Bavaria is home to a large number of musicians and artists, and local audiences are quite knowledgeable about musical repertoire.
