ROLLINS COLLEGE, WINTER PARK, FL

We are pleased to announce that, beginning in summer 2020, we will offer the International Baroque Academy in a retreat-like atmosphere on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. Named one of the most beautiful college campuses in the United States by publications such as Condé Nast Traveler and the Princeton Review, Rollins’ Spanish Mediterranean-style buildings and lush subtropical landscapes line the shores of Lake Virginia. 

IBA classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and practice rooms will be housed in the Rollins Department of Music’s Keene Hall. Public concerts will be performed in Tiedtke Concert Hall and in Knowles Memorial Chapel, in partnership with the acclaimed Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. Built in 1932 and noted for its fine organ, Knowles Memorial Chapel was designed by the architect Ralph Adams Cram, who also designed St. John the Divine in New York City.

Winter Park’s lovely Park Avenue shopping and restaurant district, just steps away from the Rollins campus, is known for feeling more like a European village than a Florida tourist area. Whether you choose to stroll tree-lined brick streets filled with sidewalk cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops, relax in a park, or take a walk on the path by the lake, you are sure to enjoy your free time when not scheduled in your IBA rehearsals, lessons and classes. The Saturday and Sunday between the first and second weeks of IBA are completely free for travel or relaxation!
